A nose job, commonly known as rhinoplasty surgery, can range from $5,000 to up to more than $15,000. The cost depends on the competence and experience of the surgeon, the complexity of the procedure, and the geographical location of where the surgery will take place. Rhinoplasty surgery generally takes 1.5 to 3 hours to complete and is typically scheduled as an outpatient procedure. In closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside of the nose, making them undetectable to the eye. This technique provides a limited approach to making changes. With open rhinoplasty, an incision is made across the tissue between the nostrils and repaired with tiny, dissolvable sutures. Open rhinoplasty surgery allows for more room to make internal corrections and tends to be the preferred choice for plastic surgeons.

Every patient’s pain threshold varies, but most patients report fairly mild discomfort after surgery. We frequently hear that the sensation of being “stuffed up” is more disorientating. The swelling can force you to breathe through your mouth, and this may last a few days, leaving you with a dry throat and lips. A dull ache is commonly reported for the first day following surgery but quickly dissipates soon thereafter.

There is no set age that is the right age for rhinoplasty. However, there are some parameters that patients must fall within to be considered as treatment candidates. Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as a liquid nose job, is an affordable method for improving your facial balance and costs far less than a surgical procedure. A surgical rhinoplasty will likely be four or five times the cost of a non-surgical rhinoplasty, or more, based on which surgical repairs are needed. With the non-surgical approach, a dermal filler is injected to create a more balanced and softer profile.

Surgeons with more experience will charge higher fees than those newer to the practice. Sometimes, large cities tend to have higher fees because overhead costs are higher than in smaller cities. It is important to research your surgeon to make sure they are board-certified and recognized for their approach to detail in rhinoplasty surgery.
