Laser pigmentation treatment is a non-invasive skin revitalization procedure that targets and eliminates unwanted discoloration.
Unlike older lasers that use intense heat, which can sometimes lead to more pigment issues, our PICO Genesis uses ultra-short picosecond pulses to create a mechanical effect that shatters pigment into tiny, dust-like particles.
Your body then naturally flushes these particles away. This cold laser approach is safer for a wider range of skin tones and provides a triple-threat benefit: it destroys dark spots, evens out skin tone, and stimulates a global glow by revitalizing the upper layers of the dermis.
Your session at our Danville medspa is efficient and comfortable. After cleansing the skin and providing protective eyewear, our provider glides the PICO Genesis handpiece over the target areas. You will hear a rapid clicking sound and feel a sensation often described as the snap of a thin rubber band.
Because the laser pulses are so incredibly fast, there is very little heat buildup, making the procedure much more comfortable than traditional IPL or older laser resurfacing. The entire face can be treated in about 20 minutes, allowing you to return to your day immediately.

There is no true downtime with PICO Genesis. Immediately after the treatment, your skin may look slightly flushed, similar to a mild workout, which usually fades within an hour. Over the next few days, your brown spots may turn slightly darker (often called "peppering") before naturally sloughing off to reveal clear skin underneath. We simply ask that you wear a medical-grade SPF and avoid direct sun exposure for a week to protect your newly revealed, sensitive skin.

So what else can patients expect from PICO Genesis?
